"Entertainer" status of residence (e.g., actors, singers, dancers, professional athletes)

  1. Foreign nationals intending to perform activities pertaining to entertainments such as acting, singing, dancing, or performance (musical, theatrical, and comedic)
  2. Foreign nationals who wish to participate in the activities outlined in (1) to (5):
    (1) Activities related to entertainment (such as acting, singing, dancing, or performing) for events hosted by a Japanese national or regional public organization; a special corporation; or schools, vocational schools, and schools with special classification as stipulated by the School Education Act
    (2) Activities related to entertainment (such as acting, singing, dancing, or performing) for cultural exchange events that are hosted by a Japanese public or private organization established through the support of the Japanese national government, of regional public organizations, or of independent administrative corporations
    (3) Entertainment activities at a venue that is at least 100,000 m2 and consistently hosts acting, singing, dancing, or performances by foreign nationals to attract tourists with entertainment based on a foreign setting or the cultural themes of a foreign country
    (4) Activities related to entertainment (such as acting, singing, dancing, or performing) at venues that do not provide food, drinks, or other hospitality services to guests for a fee (limited to venues operated as non-profit by Japanese public or private organizations, or those with a guest capacity of 100 or more people)
    (5) Activities related to entertainment (such as acting, singing, dancing, or performing) for a remuneration of at least 500,000 yen per day (in cases of group performance, the total amount received by the group), while residing in Japan for a period not to exceed 15 days
  3. Foreign nationals intending to perform entertainment activities other than acting, singing, dancing, or performances, such as sports
  4. Foreign nationals who wish to engage in entertainment activities outlined in (1) to (4) below:
    (1) Activities for the advertisement of products or businesses
    (2) Activities on broadcast programs (including cable broadcasts) or film productions
    (3) Activities involving photoshoots for commercial use
    (4) Activities involving commercial recording, videotaping, and other audio/video recording media
