- Foreign university students wishing to participate in an internship. (Activities which provide students with practical experience at a Japanese company as part of their studies.)
- Foreign university students wishing to take a summer job. (A job over the summer holidays for a period of less than three months at a Japanese company doing work related to their studies or their future employment.)
- Foreign university students wishing to participate in cultural exchange activities when university classes are not being held for a period of less than three months. (Events include those organized by either local government offices or elementary/junior high schools in Japan.)
