Outline of the Trusted Traveler Program

What is the Trusted Traveler Program?

The Trusted Traveler Program (TTP) is for people and their families traveling to Japan for a short time, on business, to visit family, or as tourists. Foreign nationals recognized as "Trusted Travelers" are able to use the automated gates* with a "registered user card" issued by the Commissioner of the Immigration Services Agency.
*These automated gates are currently located in the landing examination areas and departure examination areas of Narita, Haneda, Chubu, and Kansai airports.

Benefits of the Trusted Traveler Program

Foreign nationals who are eligible to register as a user of the TTP do not need to wait to undergo a face-to-face immigration examination at an immigration booth; instead, they will be able to quickly conclude the immigration examination procedure using the automated gates with their registered user card.

To those who wish to apply for the TTP

Please complete the pre-check to confirm whether you meet the registration requirements.

New entry is not permitted in principle as the border control measures of COVID-19, which are, for example, the suspension of visa exemption measures and the denial of permission to entry from the designated countries. Accordingly, the examination of TTP applications are suspended for the time being.
Regarding the applications that have currently being accepted, the examination will be restarted when the current border control measures are relaxed.
