On Monday, July 6, 2020, the Immigration Services Agency plans to open the "Foreign Residents Support Center (FRESC)" to support foreign nationals living and working in Japan in the "Co•Mo•Re Yotsuya Building" near JR Yotsuya Station in Shinjuku.
FRESC works together with residential organizations to develop a framework to accept foreign nationals through various support initiatives related to their stay in Japan.

8. Duties

FRESC provides efficient and effective support to foreign nationals residing in Japan by promoting the following initiatives: promotion of accepting and hiring foreign students, promotion of accepting highly-skilled foreign professionals, human rights protections for foreign nationals and their families, consultation regarding legal troubles and visa issues, fair labor standards and working conditions, and promotion of employment of foreign nationals in local communities.
FRESC not only provides support to individual foreign nationals, but it also offers a variety of services to the local public organizations and Japanese companies that accept them in order to support the livelihood of foreign nationals residing in Japan on a broad scale.
